If part time in creche can you ask for once off change?

Question:

I have ds1 in creche three mornings a week. We're going to miss two mornings next week, would it be totally off the wall to ask them to swap from Thurs and Fri morning to Tues and Weds morning just for next week? I don't think staffing is an issue as they seem to have the exact same staff every day (I have friends with kids in his room) so it's not like they have to pay extra wages etc. The rooms aren't full any days either so it's not like they wont have room for him. I know this because if I ask for them to take him an extra day they have no problem and will bill me accordingly but there'll be no extra staff.
I think I might ask anyway but am I being cheeky?

I'd ask .. what's the worst they can say????
Answers:
It sounds perfectly reasonable-sure they can only say no so worth a try.

I dont see the harm in asking

I'd ask too- no harm in it!!

As the others said, the worst they can do is say a bit fat NO - although I'd imagine that they're trying to be more flexible at the moment if they do have available places, last thing they want is even more available spaces!

I'd ask, don't see it beeing cheeky at all. My boys used to go to a playschool (in a creche) 3 mornings a week and there was no problem changing days occasionally.

I've done it as sometimes I have to cover holidays at work and take my days off on other days. They are very good and will be flexible if they can be so I'd give it a try if I were you. Best of luck!

Ask. My crèche used to be totally inflexible but times have changed and they don't want to risk losing a paying customer.

I'd ask, DS's creche is very flexible

I have asked in the past and found them very accomodating - they just check that they have the correct staff: child ratio. I have also occasionally booked in an extra day and they have been good about it too. Least they can do really given that I regularly don't get to use the full days and give them notice when I can't so it's give and take.

The creche my boys used to be in where always very accomodating and would let me swap says if they had the right amount of staff and kids.

I'll throw a complete spanner in the works here and confirm that if it was in my creche it would be considered 'cheeky'... I have 2 little ones in a creche and they are in 4 days a week and it drives me scatty that I can't swap the day they are not in the creche every now and again... I always have to 'book' them in for an extra day. Drives me bananas but that's the rule and they don't make exceptions.
Answers:
I have done this and the creche have had no problems with it. As others said the only thing they can say is NO, but they wont

Oh must have been same creche we had. Always got billed for an extra day if i took her out a different day.
Answers:
There's no problem with this in my LOs creche, sure ask and see
Answers:
I wouldn't imagine there should be a problem, especially if it is a once off.
In an ideal would it would be nice to pick and choose your lo's creche hours week by week! Would that be bliss!
Answers:
They said yes! I'm delighted - and stunned Hope they don't send me the extra days on the bill next month, I'll be raging
