Wednesday was the first of April so we missed out last week by one day!
Next monday is the new reduced rate of ECS too, €83 per child instead of €92... though I've got this feeling it won't be lasting much longer after tomorrow...

Families getting Child Benefit will be paid the Early Childcare Supplement for children up to 5½ years of age (5 years of age, from 1 March 2009).
The Early Childcare Supplement is a monthly payment. It is paid on the second Monday of each month. You will get a payment for the month your child reaches 5½ years of age (5 years of age, from 1 March 2009) but not after that.
As with Child Benefit, the Early Childcare Supplement is non-taxable (that is, you do not have to pay tax on it).
Rates
From January 2009, the Early Childcare Supplement is worth €1,104 per child, per year.
You will get €92 per month. It is paid in arrears on the second Monday of each month. For example, February's payment will be paid to you on the second Monday in March.
From March 2009, the Early Childcare Supplement is worth €996 per child, per year.
You will get €83 per month. It is paid in arrears on the second Monday of each month. For example, March's payment will be paid to you on the second Monday in April.
