Hey ladies, my 2 year old goes to bed at 8pm and sleeps til 7am. He naps from 1-3 (I wake him then).
The problem is for the last week or so, when he goes to bed at night, he's taking about an hour to go to sleep (when it used to be just minutes).
I'm not sure if I need to move his nap earlier or bedtime later or if it is an age thing/just a phase?
Anyway, just wondering what your two year old sleep routine is? Any suggestions welcome please.

my 2 year old hasn't napped for almost a year now, but the 2 year old I mind sleeps 2 hours in the day, and doesn't go to bed until 9.30. Her parents are happy with this beacuse they get to spend time with her in the evening. The days where she sleeps for a shorter time - she'll go asleep earlier for them. I think I'd try 12-1.30 and he should be ready to sleep at 8 then.

I was thinking that. I don't want to cut it out because I love the quiet time

Ds is 27mths, he's rarely has a day time nap and if he does it's for no longer than 30-45mins.
He goes to bed at 7pm and wakes anytime from 6-8am.

DS is 2 and 8 months and was a 7-6am sleeper with 2 hours during the day. Now, he's more like 8pm to bed, 8.30pm by the time he gets to sleep, 6.30-7am wakes. I cut his nap down to 1 hour if I need him to get to sleep earlier at night but he'll usually sleep 2 hours going by the above schedule. I need his naps too

My DD doesn't go to bed 'till about 9pm and sleeps 'till about 8am which suits me.
She naps for about an hour a day. The last few nights she has been very restless too, took hours to go to sleep, didn't drop off 'till 10.30pm, I'm hoping it's a phase.
Very surprised to hear how many 2 year olds don't nap at all, I was wondering when DD would stop napping, not sure if I want her too, some days I'm glad of the break, other times, if we are out, it's an inconvenience.

Ds 2yr goes to bed anytime between 7.30-8-30pm and still wakes up 2/3 times every night. He is now coming up to our room and hopping into our bed . I do put him back to bed but most of the time i'm so tired with all the disturbed sleep as work partime i just leave him in our bed. But this also means none of us end up getting a good sleep. Dh said he was wrestling with him in the bed the other night as ds was trying to nudge dh ouuta bed. . Not at all funny next morning when we're all exhausted. Can anyone please help. Why is he still waking up????

DD (2 and 3 months) goes to bed at 7.30pm and wakes between 6am and 7am (at 5.30am if we're really unlucky). On days she's in creche she has an hour nap and the days she's at home it's generally about two hours. She still very much needs that nap I find.

dd2 is nearly 3, she normally sleeps from 7pm until 8-9am and naps for 45mins to an hour a day. Sometimes she won't sleep when we put her down for her nap but we need the peace
dd1 was not a napper, she would take 10 minutes maybe twice a day and if she slept after 2pm not a hope of getting her to sleep until nearly 11pm. We too had the problem of her coming into us and tbh we found the only way to stop it was over a long bank holiday weekend (a very long one when so tired i might add) everytime she came into our bed we would bring her back to her bed and settle her, no matter how many times she came in we would return her to her bed. She did stop but we did have some melt downs over it

ds dropped his nap pretty dramatically about a week after he turned 2, he went from a 2-3 hour nap to nothing. needless to say i was unimpressed that my break was gone about once a week he would have a day where it all caught up on him and he would be wrecked and sleep for a while but then wouldn't go to sleep in the evenings till about 10pm we stopped letting him nap at all after a while as it interfered to much with his night time sleep.
i would pull the nap back to 45 mins or so, and move it to earlier in the day, might help.

ds (2 & 7 months) goes to bed at 7pm...asleep by 7.45 - wakes between 6.30-7.30 - naps for 1 to 1.5 hours during the day from 12.45-2/2.30pm (latest - i wake him then) he def still needs the nap & i find he sleeps better at night then - if he wont take nap he tends to be overtired going down.

My DD still wakes 2 or 3 times a night and she is in my bed all the time anyway.
Sorry can't help with why they are doing it, is your DS breastfed?

Hello
My 2 year old has never been a very good sleeper. So he has never had any routine regarding sleep.
Sometimes he would sleep during the day only in the car or the buggy if lucky.
He goes to bed at 7.30pm and one of us need to sit him the room with him on our lap till hes asleep. Sometimes it takes 15 mins other times 1-2 hours. We have tried everything nothing works!
He was better at going to sleep a few months ago and we could just put him in bed and walk out..since the summer hes regressed alot. We are finding it quite hard.
He really does need a nap during the day but just wont go for a sleep no way.
He has been waking alot at night time too recently. Before he would sleep till about 6am or 7am. Now when he wakes he wont go back to sleep either.
