DD got into her own 'routine' from about 9 weeks, where her last feed of the night was between 8:30 and 9 and she'd be asleep and in her cot by 9:30/10pm. She'd then sleep til 7am (ish) the next morning, with the first feed of the day being between 7:30 and 8am (yes I know, we were very lucky to be getting so long out of her).
Anyway, in the past two weeks she has been feeding and going down for the night at the same times, but has started stirring anywhere between 4 and 5:30am. When I say stirring - she's either moaning or half-crying in her sleep. I'm pretty sure it's not hunger, as one of the first nights it happened I just automatically took her up to feed her and she only took 2.5 oz (she normally takes between 5 and 7.5). Since then I haven't fed her, just given her a dummy. Some nights this will send her back to sleep til 7 or 7:30am, and other nights she keeps knocking the dummy out and I have to get up and down to give it to her.....and the thing is, she's not even awake, this all happens in her sleep.
She's not too hot or too cold, it's not a case of radiators, etc, making noise that wakes her, and I can't think of anything else that could be doing it. She's still getting her full nights sleep, as she's asleep through it, but we're up from about 4am onwards (can't go back to sleep when I have to constantly get up to her ).
I don't mean to be complaining about it - I know most others are still getting up to feed their babies during the night or early hours at this stage (14 weeks), but it's just frustrating not knowing if something is wrong. I wouldn't mind if she was hungry, at least I could feed her and put her back down then, and know what it was.....
Any ideas or suggestions appreciated, thanks.

She could be starting to teethe? Maybe try a Nelson's Teetha sachet or rub a bit of bonjela on her gums at the front of her mouth where her first teeth will cut and see if that settles her, if so it could indicate she is feeling a little discomfort there.

I would guess either teething or growing pains...
O often moans & wriggles around in his sleep stretching & curling up - has done since he was tiny & we think he gets bad growing pains. When he's going through a bad bought I give O painkiller & lots of massage...hth

If it's not hunger, I'd be inclined to think of teeth as well...

Or its just another phase. Just because she slept thru before doesnt mean she will always sleep thru. There will be so many different waking and sleeping phases between now and age about 2 , in my experience anyway.
Sorry, I know, no actual help on this one.

Thanks for the replies girls. Was thinking just today that it could be teething. She's been off her food today and has the rosy cheeks and has been very dribbly. I'll get something for her gums tomorrow and see if it helps.
Thanks again

DD slept through at 10 weeks. It lasted about 4 weeks and then she started waking at least once a night again to be fed. She didn't go back to sleeping through until she was about 9 months. I initially put it down to teething, but when it persisted I changed my mind & figured that as she grew her nutritional needs increased and she simply needed the extra feed.
(That would in theory have become less true by 6 or 7 months, except that she went on a bottle strike when I went back to work & so fed at night to make up for it. Once she decided to take the daytime bottles, the nighttime situation improved.)
