I've just come home with my 9 month old daughter whom we adopted from Vietnam. She is a doll, very social and much more active than we anticipated. Does anyone have suggestions for playgroups/mum and baby groups/gymboree type things near Phibsboro/Dubin 7? She adored playing with other babies in Vietnam and the US where we spent two weeks on our way home, so I'd love to find a situation where she can interact with other young ones, and I could meet some other mothers. An acquaintance mentioned something to me called Mumslink? Mumlink? Momlink? but I can't remember the exact name or contact information. Thanks for any tips!

Hi StephanieK,
I don't know if this is too out of your way but i have heard about a playgroup just near the Airside retail park near the airport. It's a jungle gym place where they encourage children/babies to play while the mothers all sit watching and drink coffee. I haven't been there but a friend takes her little one and says it is very good. If you are interested I can get you the details on it.
best of luck

and congrats on your little one!

Motherlink is a mother and baby/toddler weekly meet up in the homes of members of Cuidiu/Irish Childbirth Trust. You don't have to be a member to attend, everyone is welcome at all the groups. Donation is €1.50 for members and €2.50 for non-members. The Cuidiu/ICT Dublin North west Branch has three regular Motherlinks, Dublin 9/11, Dublin 7 and Dublin 15. Dublin 9/11 meets on a Monday, Dublin 7 group meets on a Tuesday and Dublin 15 group is also on a Monday I think.
Dublin 7 group co-ordinator is Derval, will pm you her number so you can find out where next Tuesdays "cuppa" is being served!
Cuidiu/ICT Dublin Northwest also have a Humpty Dumpty playgroup for toddlers on Wednesday morning at 10.30am in the Parish Centre, Our Lady Help of Christians on the Navan Road. If you go, ask for Martina.
There's also a toddler playgroup in the Corpus Christi Hall on Home Farm Road on Tuesday mornings.
Not sure how mobile you are but Gymboree is on on Thursdays in the Tolka Rovers complex on Griffith Ave Extension and in the Hurly Burly at the North Road junction with the M50.
Jojingles is on in Glasnevin Tennis Club on Friday mornings.
There's Silly Billy classes on Wednesday in Castleknock and on Friday in Killester.
That's all I can think of for the moment....

Hi Stephanie,
Check out the website
http://www.playandmusic.ie/ for all the classes available for the different age groups in north and south dublin.
Also, the place i mention3ed to you before is 'kidzone', they have the play time thing (!!) from 10 til 1 Mon to Fri.
But the website i have above is brilliant, you should find it really useful.
