Medela mini electric double pump - views please

Question:

Has anyone used this pump? If you have how did you find it and would you recommend it?

Thanks in advance

Twinkle while I'd recommend a double breast pump, if you think you're going to use it on a regular basis I'd look into another one.
I spent a fortune on mine only for the pump to clap out after 4 days use. A shop that sells them in north dublin has a box of spare pump sections for this very purpose as it is notorious for breaking and the suction going. This I discovered after I brought it back to complain. I wouldn't recommend this pump to anyone who thinks that they will possibly have to depend on it.
Sorry.

I bought one on MM.
It was great for my usage, ie to pump once a day when I went back to work, DD was already 10months old. Like Redzer said you might need something better if you plan to pump lots.
Edited to add: I just noticed you haven't had the baby yet, I wouldn't buy any pump until afterwards, you won't be able to use it for a few weeks anyway, and you'll know better then what you need. When I was pregnant I was planning on doing a lot of pumping but when DD was born I didn't bother.
Good idea to do your research now though

thanks ladies i am not only researching it for myself but my friend who just bought one baby is 8 weeks and she has a one year old so finding it hard to bf as other ds keeps getting jealous and trying to pull ds2 off her!
I was looking at a basic one like the avent one for myself, i do plan on expressing a lot as i have to go back to work by the time baby is 3mths and as i am planning on expressing from day one due to complications i had with dd so i need to do the reseach as if things don't work out in the hospital bf dh will need the exact make, type, model, serial number and any other idiot proof stuff to go and buy the pump so i don't have to give this baby formula. I really want a double pump though!

I have this pump. Bought it 2nd hand on MM. I find it great and use it 2x a day for the past 16 weeks no problem. Had the single pump with my first and had no problems as well.

Using it twice a day for almost 3 months now - only problem was it needed to be taken apart and some fluff taken out once. It's years old as I had it too for my son and used it once/twice a day for months then too - really handy. Recommend the double - really saves time - it's just not as easy to read a magazine or book as when using the single.

My medela double pump is 3 yrs old & still going strong. Using it at least once a day for the last 8 months. Also use this great invention, wish I had discovered it first time around, weird but wonderful leaving hands free for reading or surfing! http://www.expressyourselfmums.co.uk/de ... ustier.htm Best of luck with it all.
