Maybe a set with doll's bath & accessories? Or a tea set? Or some jigsaws? Dd loves al those things. She is big into dolls, so buggies & prams are always a big hit too. You can't go wrong with books, or arts & crafts sets.

My niece at this age also loves dolls and any type of baby doll (doesn't have to be the expensive ones!) go down a treat with her. Also a little buggy or carrytot for the doll is a hit. I'd be careful of bags at that age with long handles in case she wraps them around her neck but a backpack for carrying her bits and bobs she might like.

Thanks for the replies....what do you think of those anabell dolls and the like that wee, burp etc.....what age do you think they need to be to enjoy these dolls ....are they a waste at 3 years of age as they seem a bit pricey?

I think you're right about the bigger Annabels, Baby Borns etc. My dd (2 and a bit!) was given an old one by my niece and its a bit too big for her really. But she has a My First Annabel (smaller doll) which she absolutely loves and which is dragged everywhere, so maybe you could try one of those. Also the little buggies are great. You don't have to buy the actual anabel brand one - i got a graco one for €8.
i would also second jigsaws and I don't think you can go wrong with books. Another big hit in our house is a tea set - we spend hours drinking tea and biccies
Just trying to think what else dd plays with alot...her football in the back garden, crayons and colouring books and stickers, toy cars and trains.

My neice was two recently and someone gave her a kettle that made a boiling noise. It was from the ELC. She loves playing with that. I've since noticed other "real" toys (iorn, washing machine).

She also got and iorning board which went down well too as did a Dora DVD!
Choices, choices!
